"Honorary Membership" new membership category announced

Published: 5th March 2012

“Honorary Membership” new membership category announced. Application period for 2012 now open until 30th June.

At the AGM in June 2011, it was agreed that the new membership category of honorary member would be introduced to enable APTUK to acknowledge exceptional service, either to the association or to The Pharmacy Technician profession generally, by a person who is not eligible to be a member of APTUK.

It is in recognition of the efforts of the nominee to highlight the role of pharmacy technicians, develop pharmacy technicians, introduce advanced roles for technicians or generally working hard on behalf of pharmacy technicians.

Nominations for suitable candidates may be received from any member of APTUK and only one “honorary membership” will be awarded each year due to be announced at the AGM.

The application for membership will be considered by the Board of National Officers, if approved it will be passed to the Executive committee for endorsement (and subject to approval announced at AGM).

The awardee will be entitled to membership of APTUK and eligible to attend the AGM, however they will not be entitled to any voting rights.

The nomination period is open from 5th March to 30th June 2012.

Nominations are now being considered, please complete the nomination form and return to Secretary, Association of Pharmacy Technicians UK to secretary@aptuk, or post to One Victoria Square, Birmingham, B1 1BD.
