Celebrating #RxTechDay 2018
What is your main career achievement that you would like to celebrate this #RXTechday?
Each stage of my career in pharmacy is an achievement to celebrate, the continuing development of the role of the pharmacy technician is both challenging and rewarding. Passing my counter assistant course many years ago, then onto my BTEC and becoming a qualified pharmacy technician, I loved every minute. Working as a pharmacy technician in community pharmacy my journey continued as an accredited checking technician. Continuing my development into hospital and aseptic dispensing. As the role of the pharmacy technician continued to develop I moved onto the hospital wards and unscheduled care, directed to admission wards for medicines reconciliation, patient counselling, ward-based dispensing. On to CCG steep learning curve, thoroughly enjoying the challenge and now onto my BTEC level 4 Pharmacy Clinical Services continuing developing as my role changes. I am now a National Officer for Events for APTUK further development ahead.
I think my career achievement is adaptability and continuing professional development as the role of the pharmacy technician continues to develop and evolve within the pharmacy team.
