APTUK are delighted to be working with Professor Mahendra Patel OBE on an innovative opportunity for pharmacy technicians to support a health equality study, working beyond traditional boundaries. This research will utilise pharmacy technicians and their skillsets as registered autonomous pharmacy professionals to support essential health inequalities work. This also provides pharmacy technicians the opportunity to gain experience of supporting research in a community pharmacy setting.
Please note: there is remuneration for both the individual pharmacy technicians and the pharmacies that sign up - details are included in the following document: Genes & Health (Queen Mary, University of London) Research
This health equality research opportunity for pharmacy technicians is specific to those working in independent community pharmacies in the Banbury, Oxford City, Reading, Slough, High Wycombe and Aylesbury areas.
More details of the research study can be found here: Genes and Health study details
If research is something that interests you, if you meet the criteria and have workplace support - take this wonderful opportunity to support health equalities work - even the training is built in to the remuneration costings.
If you do not meet the criteria but would like to support others with accessing this opportunity: Social media from APTUK has already been released promoting this wonderful and funded opportunity, and support for cascading this information through your organisations and networks is greatly appreciated.
