Introduction of Statutory Regulation of the Pharmacy Technician Workforce in Northern Ireland

The Department of Health for Northern Ireland is seeking views on the introduction of statutory regulation of pharmacy technician workforce in Northern Ireland.

The consultation is seen as the first step on a journey to bring forward the pharmacy technician profession. The proposal aims to establish pharmacy technicians as a registered and regulated profession in Northern Ireland which will enable the regulator to strengthen its role in protecting patients and promoting high standards, thereby, enhancing the public’s confidence and trust in pharmacy practice.
