The Pharmacy Preparation and Dispensing Errors Hospital and other Pharmacy Services Order 2002 and the Pharmacy Responsible Pharmacist Superintendent Pharmacist Order 2022 were approved by her majesty at the Privy Council meeting on 19 July 2022. They have been numbered and published on legislation.gov
There will be a commencement order drafted to bring the new measures into force and aim to take this to the next available Privy Council in October (date tbc).
The Department of Health & Social Care (DHSC) are currently in discussions with the GPhC and PSNI on commencement of the orders to bring them into force in GB and NI at the same time. DHSC will continue to work with the regulators to ensure there are clear communications to coincide with the commencement order, which will set out their engagement plans and anticipated timescales.
