A Statement from Amy Laflin, Acting President APTUK
In light of the recent announcements regarding the ceasing of operations of a Pharmacy training provider and a, another training provider (that doesn’t offer Pharmacy education), APTUK recognises the significant impact this may have on pharmacy technician pre-registration trainees (PTPTs), employers, and the wider pharmacy workforce.
This is an unsettling time for many, and we want to reassure all affected individuals that APTUK is here to support you. Our priority remains the progression, wellbeing, and professional development of PTPTs, and we are committed to providing guidance and advocacy during this period of uncertainty.
APTUK is actively engaging with stakeholders across the sector to understand the implications and explore solutions that will minimise disruption to training and qualification pathways. We are working to ensure that PTPTs are not disadvantaged and that alternative arrangements are communicated clearly and promptly.
We encourage any PTPTs, employers, or education providers with questions or concerns to reach out to us directly. Our team is available to provide advice, signpost resources, and offer support tailored to individual circumstances.
We will be holding webinars for PTPTs and details for these will be released shortly.
These webinars will be for PTPTs to attend and have a safe space to ask questions and gain support from the APTUK team.
Please contact us via enquiries@aptuk.org and follow our official channels for updates as we continue to monitor the situation closely.
Together, we will navigate this challenge and uphold the standards and integrity of pharmacy technician education and training.
