Every registered pharmacy technician is expected to maintain their professional capability throughout their career. Recording and submitting enteries for revalidation annually enables you to confirm that you are meeting these expectations.
Revalidation is a process of continuing learning and development throughout the life of a professional. It enables pharmacy technicians to develop in their roles and demonstrate that they are competent in their area(s) of practice. Every CPD task should demonstrate how it has helped you to develop or improve the quality of your practice and how this impacts on the people you use your services. It is not just about participating in continuing education, but an ongoing process of reflection and evaluation
As a registered pharmacy technician, it is a mandatory requirement to revalidate annually.
The GPhC Revalidation framework came into force in January 2018 and sets out in detail what pharmacy professionals must do in order to meet the Revalidation requirements.
APTUK is the professional leadership body for registered pharmacy technicians and will offer our members CPD support and help/advice on recording robust CPD recording.
