CPD Support

The three main barriers to carrying out CPD are a lack of information, a lack of motivation and a lack of time. The APTUK aim to support out members by supply of relevant information/resources and helping pharmacy technicians become more self-motivated through the CPD review service, engagement with branches and events such as our annual conference.

The group has been created to share CPD ideas and opportunities for APTUK members. Once added to the group you can contribute by posting CPD opportunities so we can all support our fellow members with ideas to complete CPD for revalidation.

CPPE - The Centre for Pharmacy Postgraduate Education (CPPE) is part of the Manchester Pharmacy School, within the Faculty of Medical and Human Sciences at the University of Manchester. CPPE offer continuing professional development opportunities through high-quality services and learning materials. We run a number of events each semester in areas across England facilitated by a local pharmacy tutor. CPPE also work in a collaborative approach with our network of branches. MHRA - The Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency regulates medicines, medical devices and blood components for transfusion in the UK. MHRA is an executive agency, sponsored by the Department of Health. Sign up to subscribe to their alerts and receive CPD opportunities direct to your inbox. MHRA – e-learning modules; medicines and medical devices  are available as educational modules on medicines have been written for healthcare professionals responsible for prescribing, supplying or administering medicines

NICE - These resources are for individual practitioners, teams and those with a role in education to help improve and assess users' knowledge of relevant NICE guidance and its application in practice. NICE podcasts are also available on a variety of topics

NRLS – Patient safety– NHS England  - NRLS work with organisations providing NHS care, colleges and professional groups to set priorities and develop and disseminate actionable learning. Resources include:

UKCPA - The UK Clinical Pharmacy Association (UKCPA) is a member association for clinical pharmacy practitioners. They encourage, support and promote advanced practice in pharmacy. Although primarily for pharmacists they have a non member subscription. Included in the pack is access to three webinars, free of charge, the latest In Focus magazine (emailed quarterly) and details of forthcoming Masterclass events

Pharmaceutical JournalThe journal published by the Royal Pharmaceutical Society. Limited to 1 article free of charge per month. Note: CPD articles and modules are only available to full subscribers and members of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society.
