Association of Pharmacy Technicians UK

Registration update

APTUK is still recommending that all Pharmacy Technicians

register with the Royal Pharmaceutical Society of Great Britain (RPSGB) before 27th September 2010.

However as a result of further information received from RPSGB we recommend that your application form reaches the RSPGB offices by the

24th September 2010.

After this date it is likely that the GPhC will open its doors as the regulator (this date is dependent on parliamentary process and timetable and is still subject to confirmation) . It is still likely that the GPhC will introduce new requirements for a counter signatory.  As a minimum you will need a notary or solicitor to certify copies of documents submitted with your application eg. Passport.

This will almost certainly incur an extra charge.

APTUK will continue to post updates as information is made available to us.

The Professional Leadership Body for Pharmacy Technicians

With the formation in 2010 of the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC), the new regulator for Pharmacy, there is a need for a leadership body specifically for pharmacy technicians; we are that organisation.

The Association of Pharmacy Technicians UK (APTUK) has been in existence since 1952; always run by pharmacy technicians for pharmacy technicians.

We have tirelessly campaigned on behalf of our members to ensure the voice of pharmacy technicians is heard, beginning with our vision to register pharmacy technicians.
As the only leadership body specifically for pharmacy technicians we will respond to the evolving needs of our members through the following commitments.

Our 5 commitments to members:

1. Respond to the needs of pharmacy technicians

2. Provide CPD support and professional development

3. Actively pursue professional networking and sharing of knowledge

4. Promote pharmacy technicians through active response to health care policy

5. Support advanced roles for pharmacy technicians
