APTUK discontinues presence on X

After careful consideration, the Association of Pharmacy Technicians UK (APTUK) has made the decision to discontinue our presence on the social media platform X (formerly known as Twitter).

After careful consideration, the Association of Pharmacy Technicians UK (APTUK) has made the decision to discontinue our presence on the social media platform X (formerly known as Twitter).

This is a step we have been contemplating for some time. While social media can be a powerful tool for connection and communication, we have grown increasingly concerned about the nature of content that is often promoted or encountered on X. The platform has become a space where far-right conspiracy theories, racism, and other disturbing material are frequently circulated. We believe this environment is not aligned with our values of professionalism, inclusivity, and respect.

As a professional body, we have a responsibility to ensure that our communications take place in spaces that are safe, constructive, and reflective of the standards we uphold. We no longer feel that X meets these criteria.

We will continue to engage with our members and the wider pharmacy community through our website, email, LinkedIn, and other professional networks. We encourage you to stay connected with us through these channels for the latest updates, opportunities, and insights.

Thank you for your continued support and understanding
