Become APTUK’s Professional Lead for Wales

APTUK is seeking a passionate, forward‑thinking pharmacy professional to champion the voice, development, and recognition of the pharmacy technician workforce across Wales. This voluntary leadership role is an opportunity to shape national conversations, influence professional standards, and support the growth of our profession at a pivotal time.

  • Strategic professional engagement across Wales

Who we’re looking for: A motivated, confident communicator with a strong understanding of pharmacy practice in Wales and a commitment to advancing the profession. Leadership experience is welcome but not essential — passion, professionalism, and a willingness to contribute are what matter most.

Shape the future of the pharmacy technician profession in Scotland

We are seeking an enthusiastic, influential, and strategically minded Professional Lead for Scotland to provide professional leadership, represent the interests of pharmacy technicians, and help shape the future of the profession within Scotland. This is an exciting opportunity to work collaboratively with colleagues across the UK, influence national policy, engage with members and stakeholders, and ensure the voice of Scottish pharmacy technicians is represented at both national and UK-wide levels.

About the Role

As Professional Lead for Scotland, you will lead on delivering APTUK's strategic objectives within Scotland while acting as the key link between the executive committee, members, and national stakeholders. You will use your knowledge of the Scottish healthcare landscape to identify emerging policy developments, workforce priorities, and opportunities that support the advancement of the pharmacy technician profession.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has an excellent understanding of the Scottish healthcare and pharmacy landscape.
  • Has experience of engaging with professional networks, stakeholders, or national initiatives.
  • Is an effective communicator with the ability to represent the profession credibly and professionally.
  • Can work collaboratively while also taking initiative and lead on key areas of work.
