Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging

At the Association of Pharmacy Technicians UK, we believe that diversity strengthens our profession and that everyone should feel respected, valued and able to belong. Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging (DIB) is about recognising the unique experiences, perspectives and strengths that individuals bring, and creating environments where everyone can contribute and thrive.

Pharmacy technicians work with diverse patients, communities and healthcare teams every day. Embracing diversity and fostering inclusion helps us deliver safer, more compassionate and person-centred care while addressing health inequalities across our health systems.

APTUK is committed to supporting pharmacy technicians to develop awareness, confidence and leadership in diversity, inclusion and belonging across the profession.

Our DIB Commitment

At APTUK, our approach to diversity, inclusion and belonging is guided by a commitment to:

Create inclusive professional spaces
Ensuring pharmacy technicians feel welcomed, heard and respected across all areas of practice.

Support inclusive patient care
Helping pharmacy technicians develop the cultural awareness and communication skills needed to meet the needs of diverse populations.

Champion belonging in the workforce
Encouraging environments where individuals feel safe, supported and empowered to contribute fully.

We can pledge to:
