The APTUK Pride branch exists to provide a safe space for LGBTQ+ Pharmacy Technicians and Pre Registration Trainee Pharmacy Technicians. It is our aim to promote awareness of health and social issues that LGBTQ+ people face, and to equip ALL Pharmacy Technicians and Pre Registration Trainee Pharmacy Technicians with knowledge and skills to provide inclusive care.
How will we achieve this?
- Creating Allies
- The APTUK Pride Network needs allies; non-LGBTQ+ people who can develop their understanding, create change and inspire others to do the same. Allies are often people with LGBTQ+ family members, friends or colleagues who understand the need to support the community and work in collaboration to achieve equality in all aspects of society.
- Nurturing LGBTQ+ Leaders
- Positive change and equailty in healthcare comes about when there is wider representation in leadership roles. Nurturing LGBTQ+ & Allies to become influential leaders will ensure that those with profound understanding and/or lived experience of issues faced by the community can shape the future of services in Phamracy across the UK.
- Sharing and Listening to:
- Lived experience of LGBTQ+ people
- Expert knowledge
- Ideas for change
